This is the official site for the Atlanta Chapter of the Digital Forensics Association! If you are a computer forensic investigator, incident responder, or work daily in solving computer crime you have come to the right site.

The Digital Forensics Association (DFA) is designed to encourage, promote, and facilitate the interchange of data, experience, ideas, and methodologies relating to investigations and security in advanced technologies.

Our Atlanta chapter meets monthly to discuss personal experiences and emerging trends within Digital Forensics. Each meeting we have a guest speaker lecture on a body of knowledge relative  to this arena. Think you have something to offer? Then tell us about it! We are always actively seeking new topics and speakers for our meetings.

If you work in this field we want you to come to one of our meetings to learn more about us. Maybe you will find the meeting informative. Maybe you will make a new friend. Perhaps you will stumble upon a networking opportunity. The only way to find out is to come on by, stop in, and participate in our meetings! So check our calendar and stop on by.
WIN-FE Training:

Please join us on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 for a day of training sponsored by the Atlanta Chapter of the Digital Forensics Association (DFA).  Learn to use WIN-FE to create a customized, forensically sound, bootable, Windows 7, USB and DVD loaded with forensic tools.  The USB and DVD you create in class can be used to perform forensics on live or dead-box Windows-based computers.

Training covers the following:

  • What is WIN-FE and how was it developed and used?

  • What makes WIN-FE write protected and forensically sound?

  • How to create a WIN-FE bootable USB and DVD.

  • How to locate and install 100’s of forensic tools and software from various websites.

  • How to validate your bootable device.

  • Actually use the tool you create in class to perform system forensics on test files.

  • How to mount an external drive to export data.

Who should attend: law-enforcement, private investigators, corporate IT security and incident response personnel.

BONUS:  As an added bonus, the DFA has arranged for all attendees to be provided with training and a free copy of WIN-FO (a regular $299 value) from its creator.  The last hour of the class will be devoted to training and use of this automated, click-simple triage tool that can be used stand-alone or as a powerful complementary tool to your newly created WIN-FE devices.
